It surprised me to read that Alice had an affair with the teacher. I thought she just liked him and thought about him when she masturbated. I'll have to re-watch the episode and see if it was left ambiguous or not.--volatile memory 08:33, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

So, after re-watching layer 08 I think there's nothing in the anime that explicitly says Alice had an actual relationship with the teacher pre-reset. The only thing that happens is

  • unspecified rumors going around the school
  • juri and reika think lain spread them
  • they see the teacher driving home in his car
  • alice has a lewd fantasy about the teacher
  • evil lain is watching and says "hey did you know? who it is that alice mizuki thinks of when she's -"
  • lain gets cold stares + email accusations at school, overwrites some memories

things that do not happen:

  • someone saying that alice and her teacher are in a relationship
  • alice and the teacher interacting in any kind of relationshippy way

So it's my personal belief that the entire substance of the rumors was that alice admired the teacher and was sexually attracted to him. So i've edited the article to reflect that. However, I've worded it in such a vague way that it won't contradict those who believe that a relationship did occur.--volatile memory 15:41, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
