He uses a head-mounted display, and his point of view is shown a couple of times throughout the episode. In [[Scenario Experiments Lain]], [[Chiaki Konaka]] says that [[Nakamura Ryuutarou]] gave him the job of creating this POV footage. Konaka walked around [[Shibuya]] with a DVCam and processed the film on his Macintosh, adding HSB noise. He made a total of 3 minutes of footage for Layer 07, taking 1 month to complete it. At least one cut involved cels, which Konaka also digitally processed himself, overlaying the cel imagery with the live-action footage on his Macintosh. The first time he showed his work to Nakamura, he was told to redo it, and make it "more abnormal."
