The doujin manga of Serial Experiments Lain, titled The Nightmare of Fabrication, appears in the Omnipresence in Wired artbook.
Plot Overview
A lonely Lain decides to modify her toy dog, Bike-chan, to be able to bark. She cuts off its collar and inserts various electrical components that she programs on her NAVI.
However, Bike-chan explodes, and God (Eiri) appears before her to give her a replacement for Bike-chan and they discuss the validity of Lain's memories. Lain wakes up and thinks it was all a dream when she sees Bike-chan unharmed, collar and all. However, she sees the collar that she had cut off lying on the floor.
